State-of-the-art air filtration systems such as the Infinity Air Purifier and Performance Electronic Air Cleaner effectively remove bacteria, pollen, animal dander and other pollutants as small as 0.01 microns that's 18,000 times smaller than the head of a pin. The higher the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) rating, the more efficiently the cleaner removes particles. The MERV is the standard comparison of the efficiency of an air filter. The MERV scale ranges from 1 (least efficient) to 16 (most efficient), and measures a filter's ability remove particles from 3 to 10 microns in size.
